The short version
- There is no account to create, and the game never asks for your name, email address or contacts.
- There are no ads, no tracking and no advertising identifier. The game contains no advertising, attribution or crash-reporting software, and we run no servers for it.
- Besides buying through the App Store, the game sends information to three services, each described below: Apple's Game Center (only if you sign in to it), your own iCloud (to sync your career between your devices) and RevenueCat (to validate the Full Game purchase).
Game Center (optional)
Game Center is Apple's service, and the game works without it. If you sign in, Impact Point sends Game Center:
- Leaderboard scores when a scored match ends, each with a little context about the match (such as the division, which assists were used, and the challenge day or week). Other players see the score, your rank and your Game Center name, and we can see the leaderboards in App Store Connect.
- Achievements when you earn them, which appear on your Game Center profile.
- Friend duel and club match data (Game Center turn-based matches): the course, and for each shooter their team-scoped Game Center player ID, score and maximum score, time, division, assists, finish time and the mark of each round. The players in that match see it, and Apple stores it with the match.
The game also reads your Game Center name and player ID, whether Screen Time restricts multiplayer games, your rank on each leaderboard (overall, and among your friends if you allow it) and the players in your own matches, to show them in the game. It does not send them anywhere else. Friends are chosen in Apple's own screens. Game Center is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
iCloud career sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, your career (including your zero marks, instrument choices and competition record) syncs between your own iPhone, iPad and Mac through iCloud's key-value store. The same store holds the random purchase id described under "The Full Game purchase", so your devices count as one customer.
This data lives in your iCloud account. We can't read it, search it or see it; only Impact Point on the same Apple Account can. The game keeps a token from iCloud on your device only to notice when a different account signs in. With iCloud signed out, or turned off in the game under Settings › iCloud, your career stays on your device.
The Full Game purchase
Impact Point is free to download. The Full Game is an in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. It is the only thing for sale in the game: Pro Shop dollars are earned by playing and cannot be bought. To unlock the Full Game on your devices, restore it and handle refunds, the game validates the purchase through RevenueCat, a service that manages in-app purchases for apps. RevenueCat receives:
- your App Store purchase history for the Full Game, and whether you own it;
- a random customer id: one the game creates and keeps in your iCloud (so your iPhone, iPad and Mac count as one customer), or, without iCloud, an anonymous id RevenueCat creates;
- your locale and currency (so prices show in your currency) and the version of the app, of your operating system and of RevenueCat's software.
RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, device identifiers or location: the game sets no customer details and turns off RevenueCat's collection of device identifiers. The purchase history also appears in our RevenueCat dashboard, where we see sales figures such as new customers and revenue. None of it is used for advertising or tracking. RevenueCat handles this information under RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Saves on your device
Your career save, settings and the scores waiting to post to Game Center are stored on your device. Apart from the iCloud sync above, they stay there.
Location and motion
The game never reads your location. Each range carries its own built-in coordinates for the Coriolis effect and the position of the sun. If you turn on gyro aim, the game reads your device's rotation to move your aim; nothing is stored or sent.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may pass us crash reports. That is Apple's service, and you can turn it off in Settings at any time.
Erasing your progress
To start over, use Settings › Reset career in the game. With iCloud sync on, your devices then share the new career; turn sync off under Settings › iCloud to keep a device's career to itself. We have no copy of your iCloud data, so there is nothing on our side to delete; write to us if you need help. Game Center scores and achievements are managed by Apple in your Game Center account.
Children
Impact Point does not ask for anyone's age or personal information. Game Center features follow the parental controls in Screen Time.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
