Twelve Ring
3D archery as competitors really shoot it. Walk a wooded course, step up to the stake, judge the yardage to a foam animal and hold your pin on the twelve ring.

The shot
Judge it. Hold it. Earn the twelve.
Most archery games are arcade toys. In Twelve Ring every arrow flies a true ballistic path, with launch speed from your bow, drag, drop and wind, and every score is earned.

- 01
Draw
Drag back to draw: your thumb on iPhone and iPad, the mouse or a controller’s trigger on Mac. The string comes back at the pace the bow allows, slowest across peak weight, until it stops on the wall.
- 02
Anchor
At the wall a faint ring appears on the peep. Centre it and you are at the anchor your sight was set for. A millimetre high sends the arrow low.
- 03
Judge and hold
Nothing is marked. Judge the yardage by eye, pick your pin or dial your slider, and hold through a natural float as the pin settles.
- 04
Let it go
Release at the wall and follow through. Creep forward first and the arrow leaves slower and lands low, just as it would on the range.
Real physics, real rules
True flight. Launch speed from your bow, drag, drop and wind decide where the arrow goes. Uphill and downhill shots matter.
Brush and branches. Brush and branches stop or deflect arrows, so read the lane before you shoot through it.
Regulation scoring. Foam 3D targets scored on the 12, 10, 8 and 5 rings, from each target’s own face.
Competition rules. ASA-style and IBO-style rounds, field rounds and long-range shoots. In an ASA-style round two letdowns at a target are allowed; a third scores zero.

Courses
Fifteen hand-built courses
From Ozark river bottoms and Appalachian hardwoods to a granite reach in the north woods, Florida hammock, Texas cedar brake, Arizona boulder country and the red badlands of a Highline shoot. Each course is laid out stake by stake, morning to midday, with the targets clear against the woods.

Nothing is marked
Judge every yardage by eye. Lanes run over water, through brush, uphill and downhill, and the formats change with the venue: ASA-style and IBO-style 3D, a field round, long-range Highline shoots and a step-back ladder.

The pro shop
A real bow, tuned like the real thing
Your bow behaves like a bow. Set it up yourself at the bench, or let the pro shop time the cams, paper-tune it and sight it in for you. Gear is bought with money you earn by shooting.

Build your bow
Bows, sights, stabilizers, rests, quivers and finishes. Weight and balance change how steadily the bow holds; a loaded quiver on the riser makes it lean.
Sight it in
Shoot a known-distance lane from 10 to 100 yards and move the housing and each pin to the group. Or run a slider on a yardage tape matched to your arrow’s speed.
Paper tune it
A 20-yard paper and chronograph bench. Move the nocking point and rest, change spine, cut, point and fletching, shoot bare shafts, and read the tear.
Look after it
Strings creep and screws back out unless you look after them. A bow that’s looked after shoots tight groups; one that isn’t drifts.
